Also from what I know... it's done by Studio Pierrot, which also did Naruto which is good news (they do a decent job most of the time) and bad news (some episodes are pretty crappy). It's evidently an OVA about Ichigo and the Grand Fisher.

Well, today didn't go THAT bad. It didn't go TOO well either. But that's okay. ^^ I was at a piano competition and there's not much to say about that so let's move on...

Yesterday, I was talking to my mom and we were talking about the different marriages that my relatives had because she mentioned that my great-aunt had recently re-married. I was thinking that my mom really did have like the most NORMAL family in our network of relatives. And THEN she was saying that there were three types of couples:

1. The girl loves the guy to the same extent as the guy loves her back
2. The girl loves the guy more than the guy loves her
3. The girl loves the guy less than the guy loves her

She was telling me how when she first came to the US she didn't have anyone so she wanted to find a guy like in #1 or #3 but definitely not #2. I also agreed. But now that I think about it, #3 could be a bit "troublesome" (quote unquote Shikamaru ^^;;). I mean... I've had a bit of that. It's kinda hard to deal with because I really DO feel bad if the guy is sad just because I don't like him back. But with #2, I would be the one sad and that doesn't really bother me. I'd hate to have other people sad because of me... and that might be stupid because it's their fault and yadda yadda but OH WELL. This is just how I would feel.

So that's why I wanna marry Yuki. ^___^

This weekend was so GREAT!!!  OMG!!  I saw so much anime!!  O.o  Well, it wasn't THAT much but I haven't seen so much in a while. 
 
First, I saw Gokusen which, by the way, ROCKS and I actually started Naruto!!!  ><  I'm a TRUE fan now!!  Yes!  I love Kakashi!!!! ><

The Chronicles of AX2004

DAY FOUR: Non-hardcore fans, an extremely cold A/C, and hard-core fans

Since unmei-chan and Crystal both couldn't go on the last day of Expo, I decided to just go by myself... although I didn't really want to. But then, my mom suggested that I take this girl named Yuangting 'cause she JUST moved here from Oakland and she doesn't really have any friends or anything to do, for that matter. So then, she came with me and brought a girl she knew named Nancy. But from the moment I asked them what anime they liked, I knew that both of them would not be having fun today. -__- COLLECTIVELY, they liked Sailormoon when they were small and Meitantei Conan. Conan is fine and dandy but Yuangting didn't even like anime at the moment!! OMG, why DID they come?? >< Well, it did feel better to be walking and talking with some people rather than no one at all.

The first thing we went to when we got there was the Whose Line is it Anme? panel thing meant to be a Whose Line is it Anyway-esque show. And it was. Except that it was completely lame. Their jokes were so HORRIBLE!! >< I think there was one that was satisfactory but it was so hard to even SMILE at any of the rest of them. I actually saw a Gilderoy Lockhart cosplayer there and that was kind of interesting. ^^ We wasted like two hours watching the stupid thing because I was hoping that the jokes might get funnier but they didn't!!! >< Then I thought that we could go to the Exhibition Hall to look at the booths but when we got there, it was closed!!!!! I could NOT believe!!! >< Why in the WORLD would they close at 3?? So then, we had literally nothing to do and Yuangting and Nancy just followed me as I took pictures of the cosplayers there. And there really weren't a lot. Most of them had left by that time and didn't care for the closing ceremony. But I wanted to see it so we three had about three hours to kill until the closing ceremony (where Seki-san would appear again ^^). So I spent about an hour taking pictures and the cute girl that was a Horohoro (and I think a Sanji) had dressed up as Naruto!!! >< Her friend was Iruka and they were doing these HILARIOUS poses!! It was SOOO cute!!! Well I took their picture and then went roaming around to take more. Finally, I think I had taken a picture of every decent cosplayer there so we decided to go to the Hilton. We went inside and just read their magazines and stuff until around 5 and then went back to the ACC.

There, we went to go watch the Auction seeing as it was the only thing going on. And some people are just REALLY devoted. Most things sold for around $500 but the Read or Die sketches (which WERE really nice) sold for like at least $7000 or something like that! >< And after all the stuff was sold, they started the closing ceremony. But the GoH hadn't shown up yet so they showed AMV's while we waited and they were really cool!! >< Then, all the GoH showed up and after I took a few last shots of Seki-san, we left.

It was a sad, sinking feeling as the car pulled away from the ACC but I know I'll be back next year!! >< And I'll take MUCH better pictures!!

Before I go into Chronicles today, I HAVE to say that my pictures from the Expo came back absolutely disastrous. TERRIBLE! AWFUL! I can't believe it!!!! >< My first picture of Kakashi didn't even DEVELOP and the second one is like so dark that you can just barely make out his nice, bandaged shins!!! OOooo! *wrings hands* This must be a heavenly punishment for messing with chakra... *looks pointedly at CHAKRA GIRLS* but what's done is... unfortunately done. *bursts into tears* If ONLY I had put flash on every picture!!! IF ONLY!! Even the girl BLEACH cosplayer (one of the very few that I saw) came out all dark and fuzzy. I HATE YOU, CAMERA!!! *hurls cheap green camera out the window* AHHHHHHH!!!!!! NOOOOOOoooo!!!! AND WHY can't Kodak's little Perfect Touch crap fix it even a LITTLE?!?!?! A Cloud cosplayer I took a picture of CLEARLY has unnaturally red-eyes and they didn't even fix a simple thing like that!!! CURSE YOU TO ASGARD!!! GAHHHHH!!!! *swings tennis racket dangerously*

And even MORE bad news... Orbit has from now 'til forever banned imports from their shelves. *takes tennis racket back out* OMG!!!! HOW could they EVER do this to us?!?!??! I mean... I live on imports! Licensed anime is fine and dandy but they come out with what, at most FIVE episodes a disc when imports are cranking out up to NINE episodes a release!!! PEOPLE THESE DAYS!!!! SOoo I decided to rent GTO Live Action instead of any of their goody-goody licensed anime and it is very enjoyable. Sorimachi Takashi makes a fine Onizuka-sensei and I mean that in EVERY way possible. ^~ I also saw a very VERY good movie in Chemistry today called The Manhattan Project about this guy named Paul who actually manages to construct an atomic bomb. It sounds all science-y and nerdy but SERIOUSLY, I loved it. Paul is a very life-like character who just happens to a COMPLETE genius (even more so than William! *LoL*) and his girlfriend Jenny is very pretty and cool. I personally thought that this movie was very funny but most of the jokes are rather subtle although I believe I caught most of them. GO SEE IT!!! ><

And like anyone cares, but although I got an A in Chemistry, I really don't feel all that happy. I feel... like someone hit me an easy shot just so I can win and feel better. -___- I guess it's because Miss Yu actually told us that her summer course is a lot easier than the normal school year course. And she even gives us so much extra credit even though it's easy. And it IS very easy. I mean, our class average is an A minus. I wish she would just give us normal tests because then I'd feel as if I'd actually ACCOMPLISHED something. Like in World History, it was SO tough to do well on the tests and when I finally got an A, it was like WOW. But Chemistry is like "oh, another A" on those tests. If she didn't give extra credit I would at least feel a bit better but I guess this is good for those slacker-type people. -____-

Well, now that I've gotten all THAT out of my system, I can continue the Chronicles!! ><



The Chronicles of AX2004

DAY THREE: Seki-san, Seki-san, and Seki-san

OKAY. TODAY WAS THE DAY. THE DAY. Those days where those once-in-a-lifetime chances come swinging around and you feel like you're the luckiest person in the world! >< WELL, 7.4.2004 was THE day that Tomokazu Seki (yes, THE Tomokazu Seki) arrived at AX!!!! OMG!!! We started waiting at like 9AM for the panel when it actually started at 1PM!!! >< We felt so special and devoted!! And then this girl dressed as Horohoro and her friend as Tao Ren both from Shaman King came and they looked SOOO kawaii so I had to take their picture!! And this one actually came out pretty good. Then like an hour later, I think that she actually changed and came back as Sanji from One Piece!!! >< And she looked so wonderful!!! So I asked for her picture but when I pressed the button, it wouldn't budge!!! And to my HORROR, the stupid green thing was OUT OF FILM, the piece of crap!!! So I quickly pardoned myself and frantically put more film in and as I almost had a nervous breakdown over a camera, a very well-represented USOPP (which I've never seen before) and a GOOD Zoro that actually put a sword in his mouth came and they all got together and posed!! It was SOOO AWESOME!!! >< And then, thinking that I had finished putting the new film in, I raced over to them and took pictures!! But later, I saw that the film hadn't even moved because the hook thing never caught the hole things (sorry, not a camera person ^^;;)!!! UGHHHH!!!! I finally got it to work as the line moved into the panel and it started but by then, the One Piece group had long dispersed. STUPID FREAKIN' CAMERA!!! ><

But before all that... when I first got to the Convention Center, I saw him. For the sake of him ever seeing this blog, I shall call him Dick. Well, from the car, I caught sight of his annoying streaked hair long before I pulled in and actually talked to my mom on purpose until he would go inside. And then I snuck in and up the elevator. But then, going from the second floor to the third floor, I saw him!!! He was coming down the escalator and I was about to go up so thinking fast, I darted behind a pillar and waited until he was out of sight. Then I ran up the escalator!!! I felt so shinobi-like!! I wish Kakashi was there to see! ^^ No, actually I don't because then he would think that I was very weird. ^^;;;

Okay, back to the panel. Well, there were questions, cheers, etc... and afterwards an autograph session in which all 200 people in the room flowed out of the room, down the escalators, and to the autograph session place. ^^ Our cool posse ran quite fast to the first floor (from the third) and got quite an early place in line. Then, while in line, one of Crystal's friends came and was talking to us. I would later find that she was a RIVAL for Kakashi!! AHH!! CHAKRA GIRL #3!! >< Well, actually no. She was dressed as Nami and she was quite nice. But Crystal also later told me that she didn't like me 'cause I was smitten with Kakashi like she was. -__- So, we all got the autograph *proudly beams and points to signature on Fruits Basket poster* and I had to leave soon after. I went home and didn't see fireworks after all. OOooh well. Tomokazu Seki was much better to look at anyway. ^__^

WOOOOooooowwwwww... I just read IT. IT being Chapter 116 of the stellar manga BLEACH by the ONE AND ONLY Kubo Tite. And all I can say is WOW. For a shounen mangaka, Kubo-san sure knows how to make relationships between his characters so breathtakingly beautiful. Just READ IT and you'll know what I mean... ^^ WOoooww... I must have read the chapter like 5 times already, *sniff* it's just soooo touching!! >< And Byakuya looks HOT. ^^= As well as Ichigo. And I love Hanatarou too! ^^ I BOW DOWN TO KUBO-SAN!! If he were ever to come to Anime Expo, I would... OMG... *goes into stunned state* I would be... SO HAPPY. O.O

The Chronicles of AX2004

DAY TWO: Fate, more chakra, and a talent show gone sour

And here comes Saturday; bright, beautiful, and irresistably wonderful!! >< I don't think that made sense there... oh well. O chibi and I arrived around ten at the Coast Hotel where unmei-chan, Crystal, and Joanna were for my first REAL day at AX!! Well, the first thing we did was head STRAIGHT for the Exhibition Hall full of anime merchandise to suck my money away with!! Oh goody!!! ^__^ But OMG... there were SOOOO many better cosplayers this year than last year!! I saw sooo many more PoT, One Piece, Shaman King, etc. cosplayers; it was unbelievable!!! I took a lot more pictures this year than last. And there more (I think) booths this year than last!! I estimated that I spent about $70 that day... which really isn't all that much but just go HOLD it in your hand and see how powerful you feel! ^o^

And then as Crystal and her sister went to go meet up with one of her friends, Kakashi appeared!!! He sort of just... materialized in front of us!! Such a good shinobi! ^^= Well, he appeared to be checking out some type of scantily clad female figurine but THAT'S OKAY!! ^^ We stalked followed him for a bit but then it seemed strange for unmei-chan and I to be interested in that sort of thing so we pushed forth our trusty O chibi-chan to at least look interested in those... finely crafted sculptures. This got us QUITE close to him and I even touched the SAME BOX for a Tales of Symphonia figure that he did!!! WOW!!! I definitely felt a SPARK when I picked up the box!! ^___^= Then, we decided to go a little farther away before he got suspicious 'cause shinobis are keen like that! So we hid behind a nearby stall and I begged and pleaded for unmei-chan to take another picture of him for me (because who knows? He might do a DIFFERENT POSE!). Well she finally went ahead and took it and he DID do a DIFFERENT POSE!!! Because instead of raising his right hand in a thumbs-up sign, he assumed a very professional and very cool fighting stance!!! WOWOWOWOW!!!! >< Then, to make a long story short, we found Crystal and Joanna and then went off to lunch... err dinner? Well, it was a meal at 4PM. -__-

Soo... we trekked over to the Marriot where I believe the SAME GUY was playing piano, ^^;;; and had a small meal break. unmei-chan was quite furious when the Starbucks produced the wrong order for her... ^^;; And THEN... while at the Pizza Hut, who was to walk in but... CHAKRA GIRL #1!!!! O.o Her fumes of chakra were just BILLOWING around her but fortunately, she was with her boyfriend (no doubt intoxicated with chakra) and she probably didn't notice me. ^^ BUT this was pivotal in pointing out that she had REALLY given up on Kakashi!!! >o< There, more people complimented Crystal and Joanna on their costumes ^^= and we went back to the convention center where a cosplay photo frenzy ensued. After that, we walked to the hotel and watched more brainless shows. I know somewhere before that, O chibi was royally beaten at SSBM in the gaming room! >< He claimed it was a warm-up... right. Well, we watched TV until approximately 8:30PM and then went back to the ACC because my brother wanted to play the game AGAIN so we took him there.

On the way through the parking lot, we saw many interesting license plates... some people are just REALLY obssessed. And I was of course wearing my newly bought Yuki hat!! I spotted a girl wearing a Kyo hat in the lot and I yelled "NOO!!" when I saw her and she gave me a really REALLY scary glare... ^^;;; Well, we made it to the ACC in one piece and he played for a while. We then decided to go watch AX Idol, which would come to be a HUGE MISTAKE... I don't personally have anything against the singers but NO, YOU DON'T BELT OUT NINGYO HIME AS IF IT WERE A GOSPEL... O__O I was very frustrated at the host (who thought he was hot and that it was funny to act gay... which it wasn't) and some judges who just weren't doing their job. Our group left before the thing ended (which was good because I had a HUGE pounding headache) and my dad came to pick my brother and me up.

All in all, Saturday was pretty darn fun. I took a lot a lot of pictures and I saw Kakashi!! >< But little did I know... I would never see him again.

The Chronicles of AX2004

DAY ONE: A hectic schedule and a mediocre day

Well, here comes first day of Expo, and where am I? I am slaving away at home on the piano, pounding out Bach, Chopin, etc. as if my life depended on it (because it did!). For after my piano lesson, I would be able to go to AX!!!! Finally!!! And because my brother has such a nice... loose schedule, he gets to go before me!!! A full 5 hours before I got there!! URGH!!! Well, anyway, my piano lesson was ALL the way on the other side of town (city, state, whatever) it took a full 2 hours longer to get there than I expected!! And when I finally arrived at Coast Hotel where my wonderful NAKAMA were, I felt soooo bad because they had to wait soooooo long for me!!! *tears in eyes* NAKAMAAAAA!!!

*ahem* Then, we went ahead to the ACC (Anaheim Convention Center) with Crystal and her sister dressed in the CUTEST PoT costumes and YES, they were hardcore!! ^__^ And lots of people asked for their pictures!!! But by the time we got to the convention, the main Exhibition Hall was CLOSED and we couldn't get in to see the shops!! Well... everyone else had already gone there. It was just me who hadn't gone yet. TT____TT But there was nothing we could do so we basically wandered around (with me terrorizing cosplayers for pictures every moment or so) and my dear nakama mentioned that they had SEEN the Kakashi earlier in the day!!! Unfortunately, as eagerly as I looked, I didn't see him that day... -___- We then strolled around to the hotels that we couldn't afford (my dad didn't let me stay any nights anyway) such as the Marriot where this one guy was playing piano like CRAZY... unmei-chan managed to force me to play something but Crystal wouldn't budge under any poking and prodding... ^^;; After that, we went back to the Coast Hotel where we watched numerous brainless shows until time came to go watch the Kenshin OVA: Reflection. We filed over there at 9:30PM and watched and it was all sad and heart-wrenching and I never realized that Kaida Yuki did Kenji's voice before I heard it!! WOW!! ><

That was about it for the day and then my dad picked us up and carted us home where my brother and I went to bed pretty much without dinner. Basically, because we would come to learn that meals at Expo would be a very vexing task.

The Chronicles of AX2004

PROLOGUE: Registration, the longest line I've ever seen, and chakra

Well... let me start at the beginning... ^^

We so should have pre-registered. PERIOD. Upon arrival at the Exhibition Hall (forgot which one) on Thursday, July 1, 2004, it occurred to me that there would be a WHOLE LOT of people attended this four-day convention. There was just this HUGE THRONG of human bodies waiting in a death line in the middle of the hall. I looked at unmei-chan and she looked at me and we knew that we so should have pre-registered. Well, anyway, Crystal and her sister had pre-registered and they deftly slipped into line, with no idea that they had cut about three hours in line. LUCKY THEM. Well, unmei-chan and I hadn't pre-registered so Crystal and Joanna GRACIOUSLY stayed in line with us for what would be our four-hour wait.

However... it was NOT in vain! For as I walked with the group to wait in line, my eyes caught on a wonderful Kakashi (from Naruto) cosplay!!! I mean, he looked GREAT!! ^^= Well, at that point I wasn't very comfortable asking for cosplay pictures yet so I thought I'd wait until later to take his picture so we sat down on the cold tiles and waited. After half an hour or so, I thought I'd better go take his picture but as I looked over to where he had stood...! HE WAS GONE!!! I panicked!!! O___O But thankfully, he came back a bit later and then I HAD to go take his picture... so I did!!! AND WHAT AN UBER-KAWAIIII POSE!!!! OMG!!!! Wowowowowowow!!!! And then I could not take my eyes off him!!! I stared at/stalked him for what was like the rest of the night and I noticed some things...

There were TWO girls that hung around him... I will call them CHAKRA GIRL #1 and CHAKRA GIRL #2 becuase they OBVIOUSLY tried to wrap their chakra around him and take him for themselves!! >< Well, anyway, CHAKRA GIRL #1 didn't really interact with him a lot and she seemed to have (found) a boyfriend later so I didn't feel very threatened by her. But THEN, CHAKRA GIRL #2 was cartwheeling around and touching him and TALKING to him!!! AHHHH!!! Then unmei-chan pointed out that she was wearing a Miffy apron... and I felt a little better. But then Kakashi (I mean, he DID dress like him) took the Miffy rabbit and was holding it and it was SOOO CUTE!!!!!

Later (about three hours later, to be exact) we were getting close because the pre-registered line was just about through. Kakashi sat down in a chair and he looked SOOO NIIICE because he took down his mask and he was really pretty cute!!! >< Well after he went off to register, I zoomed forth and sat in his chair!!! It was so exciting because he had been in that chair just MOMENTS before!! WOW!!! After that, we registered and by the time I was done... he was GONE!!! I thought I had lost him FOREVER!!!

Then we boarded into Crystal's GRACIOUS mom's car and went home. It was about midnight. -__-

(I did see Kakashi again Saturday but that will be another tale to tell... ^^)
